Position Summary:
We are looking for a talented and highly motivated individual with experience in molecular and cell biology. The Research Associate will be an integrated member of the non-clinical team and will be responsible for executing internal research activities and conducting molecular and cell biology laboratory work in support of ongoing product development activities. This individual will conduct laboratory experiments to characterize therapeutic molecules and targets as directed by the Principal Scientist. Requirements include ability to work independently and with a team, help maintain the research laboratory, plan, and perform in vitro assays, and collect, report, and document data as appropriate. In addition to excellent wet lab technical skills, the individual should have strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to manage individual projects.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Execute in vitro cell biology and molecular biology experiments as directed by Principal Scientist
  • Perform technical procedures following SOPs in a research laboratory under minimal
    supervision
  • Perform a variety of molecular biology assays, including but not limited to RT-PCR, WB, co-IP,
    cellular transfection, and viability assays
  • Maintain mammalian cell lines using appropriate aseptic techniques
  • Maintain an organized and detailed experimental record and laboratory notebook
  • Analyze and report results and prepare presentations
  • Support non-clinical team members and perform other related duties as assigned
  • Support the day-to-day operation of the on-site lab including maintaining inventory records and
    serving as secondary safety officer
  • Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, pharmacology, immunology, or related field

Requirements:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
    • Preferred:
      • At least two years of industry experience as a Research Assistant or Research Technician
      • Experience with basic laboratory techniques such as cell culture, microscopy, ChIP, WB,
        IP, RT-PCR, and flow cytometry
      • Experience in preparing large quantities of samples for downstream sequencing
      • Experience in small molecule cancer therapeutic development
  • Possess outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Excellent time management skills and proficiency at multi-tasking
