Role and Responsibilities
We are looking for a talented and highly motivated individual with experience in molecular and cellular biology with a background in cancer biology to oversee our on-site laboratory. The Scientist I will be a member of a translational team responsible for planning and executing internal research activities and conducting laboratory work in support of an oncology clinical asset. This individual will design, conduct, and oversee execution of laboratory experiments to characterize and elucidate the mechanism of action of therapeutic molecules and protein targets.
Requirements include the ability to work independently, organize and maintain a research laboratory, design, and perform experiments, and collect and interpret data as appropriate. The individual should have strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to manage projects and deliver results in alignment with corporate goals and timelines.
- Design, execute, perform, and troubleshoot technical procedures in a research laboratory under minimal supervision
- Support the day-to-day operation of the on-site research laboratory
- Support research program by providing input into mechanism of action studies, investigating research models, developing research protocols and delivering final reports
- Maintain an organized and detailed experimental record and laboratory notebook
- Analyze, interpret, and report results to supervisor and management team
- Monitor scientific literature to stay abreast of developments with target pathway and competitive inhibitors
- Interact and support other team members and other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, cancer biology, or related field.
- Preferred:
- Expertise in b-catenin and Wnt signaling pathway
- Experience in small molecule cancer therapeutic development
- Two or more years of post-doctoral or industry experience
- Proficiency in protein immunoprecipitation techniques
- Experience in analyzing large datasets using bioinformatics tools
- Possess outstanding interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Great organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines; detail oriented.
