NuProbe USA is hiring 1 Laboratory manager for its Houston (TX) location. The company is the US-based R&D subsidiary of NuProbe Global, a company devoted to the development of novel non-invasive DNA and RNA diagnostic assays. Currently, NuProbe has several products based on PCR, qPCR, sanger technologies, as well as NGS panel products under production. NuProbe is under rapid expansion, and urgently needs an experienced and passionate person to help with lab maintenance and organization. This job needs patience and coordination skills, also will be full of opportunities and challenges. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join the NuProbe family, working under the guidance of a scientist to contribute to laboratory management.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (RANKED FROM MUST-TO-HAVE TO GOOD-TO-HAVE)
• Daily operation:
In charge of assuring lab normal functionality: supply refill, supply cataloging,
receiving/sending packages, etc.
Supplies include but not limited to: pipettors, pipette tips, waste bags, microtubes, cryoboxes, chemicals, polymerases, reagents and consumables for qPCRs, bioanalyzers, Illumina sequencers.
• Inventory tracking and order management:
In charge of collecting order request from lab members, submit orders to intranet
platforms, request and negotiate quote with vendors, record order status/usage/delivery
of lab supplies.
In charge of managing stand-by orders, dynamically optimize supply purchasing based
on usage tracking and lead time.
• Instrument maintenance and problem solving:
In charge of routine monitoring and maintenance, assist Scientist/Technical Support
regarding instrument installation and malfunction.
Instruments include but not limited to: Illumina NGS sequencing machines, Agilent bioanlayzers, thermo cyclers, qPCR machines, computers coupled with previous instruments, cold storages (refrigerators and freezers), minicentrifuges, big centrifuges, vortexes. May include following in the short future: surveillance system, computer server, fume hoods, biosafety cabinets and pressure control system.
• Safety and waste management:
In charge of medical waste collecting, packaging and pick-up schedule.
In charge of setting up on-board lab safety trainings.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
• BA/BS degree, science related field preferred.
• At least 1 – 2 years of systematic bioscience lab management experience.
More hands-on experience is preferred. Please elaborate the role and routine work of

Projected salary per year: $70,000-$ 85,000 (depends on experience)
