Women in Science with Excellence (WISE) is an intiative of BioHouston dedicated to advancing women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). WISE is a movement celebrating exceptional women in technical disciplines. By connecting women of all ages, WISE inspires girls to turn their interest in STEM into a life-long passion.

Advancing math and science means nurturing the innovation and creativity of all people—both men and women. To do this, we must create a huge cultural shift. We must overcome unintentional gender bias and drive the advancement of women, who make up a small, but rapidly increasing proportion of our STEM talent.

As women have emerged in science and technology fields, we’ve gained access to twice the number of brains—and that is good for our economy, our society, and our world.
